About Children's Activities:

Amanda Basler, M.A.
has considerable experience working with children and teenagers. She has a strong background in children's psychology with a master's degree in counseling psychology. She has been teaching art to children in an elementary school since 1989. One of her passions is teaching children and teens the art of painting, as she is a painter herself. She will be encouraging participants to express themselves freely through painting, with a focus on the process (as opposed to the product, or end result).

Amanda will also be making use of the beautiful land, sand and sea of Costa Rica. She will be encouraging the children to be more present and mindful as they connect with the natural surroundings. Some days, she will offer age-appropriate outdoor games & activities for each age group. The outdoor activities will facilitate teamwork and collaborative problem solving, will strengthen the mind-body connection, and will increase awareness of and appreciation for mother earth.

Jackie Long and Krassi Davis will be teaching the Kids Yoga classes. Both teachers have been teaching yoga to children for many years, and will be sure to structure the yoga classes so that they are interesting, fun, and developmentally appropriate for the particular age groups. Krassi and Jackie both find it deeply fulfilling to encourage children to learn about yoga while having as much fun as possible.

One of our qualified staff members will be taking care of the infants during childcare hours. If you would prefer not to have your infant in child care during this time, then you or your partner can choose to watch your infant instead of participating in the yoga classes.

We would like to reassure you that your children will be very well tended to and cared for. We have put a great deal of effort into designing a retreat that will cater to families with children of all ages. We hope you will join us for this amazing opportunity to share your love of yoga with your family!
